If you’re a regular reader of the Endangered Spaces List, you know that we occasionally draw some of our endangered spaces posts from This Old House Magazine’s “Save This Old House” page. The page has been a great resource, when reader submissions have dried up (more about that in a later post.)
Much to our surprise, this month, we beat This Old House to the punch. We were happy to see the January/February issue of the TOH magazine features the endangered Frankfort, Maine Second Empire, highlighted on the Endangered Spaces List last spring.
“Frankfort, Maine Second Empire Needs Second Wind” <— Link to last spring’s posting
The nationally circulated magazine article, as well as coverage by local media such as the Bangor Daily News, offer more information about the history of the property, called the “Treat House.” Hopefully such widespread attention will bring the needed resources and care to preserve the local landmark and architectural treasure.
If you’re interested in preserving the Treat House, please contact Tara Roy of Realty of Maine at (800) 639-2162 The property is currently listed for $65,000.

Good to see your blog is staying ahead of the nationally circulated mags. Keep up the good work.-TH
